Subacute cutaneous lupus – annular lesions
Subacute cutaneous lupus presents as psoriasiform (papulosquamous) plaques or erythematous annular plaques with overlying scales at the edges and central whitening, which may coalesce to form polycyclic patterns. Most common in sun-exposed areas (shoulders, forearms, neck and upper trunk) with the exception of the face (often spared). The lesions disappear without scarring, although some depigmentation may remain.
