Cold-induced urticaria

Cold-induced urticaria is a form of physical urticaria characterized by the appearance of erythematous, pruritic papules, accompanied by edema, triggered by skin exposure to low temperatures, whether in a cold environment, contact with cold water, or ingestion of cold food or drinks. Lesions typically appear within minutes of exposure and may be localized to the areas in contact with the stimulus or widespread in more severe cases. In severe cases, angioedema or even anaphylaxis may occur, especially with immersion in cold water.
